McDonald's Play Van Honors Andres Hernandez Barrientos

The McDonald's Play Van stopped by Mims today to honor 5th grader, Andres Hernandez, as a McDonald's Top Talent Selection. Andres had demonstrated a passion for music by writing his own song after being inspired by his Advanced Academics project on mariachi music this school year. Andres also achieved Master on all three STAAR exams this spring. We are very proud of you Andres!

Device and Library Book Return

Parents and students are asked to return all technology devices and library books on Friday, June 4, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. Devices must be returned with their charger and any included cables. If the device was issued with a case/cover it needs to be returned as well. Thank you!

COVID-19 Mobile Testing Unit at Mims

MCISD has partnered with Curative to provide on-site testing services for anyone who may need a COVID-19 test. The mobile unit will be at Mims on Monday, May 24, 8:00 am - 6:00 pm.

Mental Health Awareness Conference

This virtual conference will be held Saturday, May 8, 8:30 am - 12:00 pm. Please join us for tools and tips to help yourself and your family better deal with stress.

Scholastic Book Fair

April 26 - May 9 we will be having a virtual Scholastic Book Fair. This means you can shop anytime from the comfort of your home. Orders are delivered directly to your home and shipping is free if you order $25 worth of books. We hope you will support our school with this event while more importantly building your personal library.

New AR Word Count School Record Set

Congratulations to 4th grader, Lina Villarreal, for setting a new AR Word Count Record at Mims. Lina has read more than 5,121,345 words, the previous word count record set in 2011. We are so proud of this young lady and her accomplishing this goal! Way to go, Lina!!

D.E.A.R. Day, April 12

We will be participating in Drop Everything and Read day, Monday, April 12, from 8:00 -8:30 am. Everyone is encouraged to pick up a book and read during this time.
