Assistant Principal

Dear Mims Elementary Family and Community, 

It is with great joy and a deep sense of purpose that I introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal of Mims Elementary. My name is Sonia Mendoza, and I am honored to join a campus known for its strong community spirit, academic excellence, and commitment to student growth. 

With 23 years in education and 10 years proudly serving in school administration, I bring with me a wealth of experience and a heart for service. Throughout my career, I have remained dedicated to creating environments where students feel valued, supported, and challenged to reach their highest potential. I believe in the power of strong relationships and collaboration among families, educators, and the community to truly make a difference in the lives of our children. 

At Mims Elementary, I look forward to partnering with our incredible staff and families to continue building a culture of excellence, safety, and opportunity for every student. I am committed to being present, supportive, and responsive as we work together to ensure a successful and memorable school year. 

I am excited to meet you all—please don’t hesitate to stop by and say hello. Together, we will make this year one of growth, achievement, and Mustang pride!

Es con mucha alegría y un profundo sentido de compromiso que me presento como la nueva Subdirectora de Mims Elementary. Mi nombre es Sonia Mendoza, y es un honor unirme a una escuela reconocida por su fuerte espíritu comunitario, excelencia académica y dedicación al crecimiento de sus estudiantes. 

Cuento con 23 años de experiencia en la educación y 10 años de servicio en la administración escolar. A lo largo de mi carrera, he estado comprometida con crear ambientes donde los estudiantes se sientan valorados, apoyados y motivados a alcanzar su máximo potencial. Creo firmemente en el poder de las relaciones sólidas y en la colaboración entre familias, educadores y la comunidad para lograr un impacto positivo y duradero. 

En Mims Elementary, espero trabajar de la mano con nuestro increíble personal y nuestras familias para continuar fortaleciendo una cultura de excelencia, seguridad y oportunidades para todos nuestros estudiantes. Me comprometo a estar presente, ser accesible y brindar mi apoyo en todo momento para asegurar un año escolar exitoso y memorable.
