Reading Renaissance
We believe Readers Are Leaders and every student is provided 30 minutes of
guided reading practice time each day to reach their individual reading goal. We
understand that students who read everyday in their ZPD range, achieving reading
level, point, 90% comprehension (average percent correct) and certification
goals will experience great gains in reading growth as measured by our Star
Reading program. We also know that students should read a variety of
texts, fictional material (70%) and nonfiction material (30%). Success in
reading builds confidence, knowledge, and a love of reading.
All students should be have an average percent correct of 90 or higher and 100% of their point goal by the end of the marking period .
